Freedom of Speech

With freedom of speech, comes responsibility. Yet in today's society, how many people in fact think before they speak. Daily there are media accounts of someone saying something, usually something that isn't politically correct, and then backpedaling to try and get out of the situation. I think we as a society must be more mindful of what we say, but at the same time we can't suppress people expressing themselves because a certain group of people think it isn't "appropriate" and cause people to restrict their own speech. That, unfortunately, undermines the right in itself.
